Health and safety

Queensland Motorways aspires to a vision of ‘zero harm' across the organisation and our motorways for all employees and motorists.

Queensland Motorways ensures motorists' safety on our road network through our Traffic Management Centre on watch 24 hours a day. We have a permanent tow truck on hand at peak times to remove obstructions or stationary vehicles and our Motorway Patrol Officers also respond to any incidents on the motorways.

We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our employees and to prevent occupational illness and injury. We have four key Workplace Health and Safety goals:

  1. Demonstrate safety leadership - we believe we are all safety leaders and safety is part of the way we most effectively do business
  2. Develop safety systems - we will constantly develop safety systems to support all work at Queensland Motorways
  3. Continuously reduce risks - we will take a systematic approach to risk management and investigate all workplace hazards and incidents, and implement controls to eliminate or control the identified risk
  4. Effective post-injury management - in the unfortunate event that an employee injures themselves at work, we want to minimise the impact on the individual and the organisation
